About Krankengymnastik
What is Krankengymnastik?
Krankengymnastik (KG) – also known as therapeutic movement therapy – is a remedy treatment prescribed by a physician. It is used specifically to relieve pain, restore mobility, and improve physical function.
In contrast to the general term „physiotherapy", which is an umbrella term covering all therapeutic procedures (manual therapy, lymphatic drainage, electrotherapy, etc.), Krankengymnastik specifically describes active and passive movement therapy.
Treatment goals
Goals of Krankengymnastik
At Somana, every Krankengymnastik treatment pursues clear, measurable goals:
Pain Reduction
Targeted exercises and manual techniques actively relieve pain.
Improved Joint Mobility
Restricted joints are mobilized and trained through their full range of motion.
Muscle Building & Core Stability
Weakened muscles are systematically strengthened to make your body more resilient.
Restoring Everyday Functions
Whether climbing stairs, working at a desk, or playing sports – we train the movements you need.
Education & Self-Management
You understand your condition and learn how to continue working on it independently.
